In may 2012, Lester Grinspoon was awarded the Cannabis Culture Award.
Since 2004, the Hash Marihuana & Hemp Museum has conferred these awards upon those who have distinguished themselves in the struggle for acceptance of cannabis in all of its forms.
Grinspoon: ‘I learned that despite my training in medicine and science, I had been brainwashed like just about every other citizen in this country: that marihuana was not only NOT a dangerous drug but indeed it was remarkably non-toxic and I had to revise my view of it.’
The award recognizes people who are working to ensure that this extraordinary plant has a future where it is fully utilized and a history that is known and appreciated.
